This post is to pay homage in the celebration of Natonal Nail Polish Day
founded by none other than Essie Weingarten the founder of Essie Cosmetics LTD.
Ms. Essie began her business in 1981 with her life savings of $10,000, a trip to Las Vegas and the rest is history ultimately resulting in the launch of Essie with her first nail color being Bordeaux along with 11 more shades in a New Jersey lab. She had a dream, a couple of dollars, but overall the passion and drive to hustle to get to where she is today.A true New Yorker. An inspiration.
Let’s face it you can’t go to any salon, drug store or beauty supply store without seeing that little glass bottle and white handle in the endless colors we all know today.
I am personally getting my toes out of hybernation and KIMONO-OVER to my nearest nail salon to get a fresh mani – pedi in observation of this glamourific day. I look foward to making National Nail Polish Day a staple just like Essie nail polishes are a staple in my home. See you next June 1ST.
